Volunteer opportunity description

Veteran and Military organizations throughout Hudson County and beyond have worked diligently to plan this tribute to current and former Military Service personnel, Police Officers, Firefighters and First Responders. With nearly 2000 participants in the 2016 parade, it has quickly become New Jersey’s premier destination parade in honor of those who keep America safe and free.

The parade is set to kick-off at 12 Noon from Dickinson High School, after which participants will march down Newark Ave., before ending in front of City Hall. There will be spectator stations along the parade route, residents from across Hudson County are encouraged to come out and salute those who have sacrificed so much. Parade floats, marching bands, military vehicles, local ROTC cadets, color guards, active and former military personnel from all branches of the armed forces, VFW members, AMVETS, and all other organizations that support and honor our veterans and heroes will attend. Following the parade, a Veterans Resource Fair held on the grounds of City Hall at 280 Grove Street, Jersey City, NJ, along with live music, child-friendly activities, and food trucks.

Volunteer mobilization from the community plays a large role in creating a successful event. For this reason, we are encouraging people to sign up for more information on how they can give back to make this event special for our veterans and heroes.
