Volunteer opportunity description

Volunteers will be paired with seniors in their area. We recommend  shoveling a seniors home within 10 hours after the snow stops falling.
 
Shovels and Salt are provided by the Department of Public Works (DPW). If you require a shovel, please email us at jcshovels@jcnj.org. Shovels can be picked up at the Department of Public Works or can be scheduled to be delivered to your house (Mondays-Fridays from 10am-3pm).
 
Salt will be given in 5 Gallon buckets and will be placed at the senior’s home in an easily accessible and visible area. 

Requirements

  • 16 years of age and older
  • Youth under 18 need a parent/guardian's signature 
  • Must wear proper clothing: winter jacket, boots, hat, gloves, etc. 
  • Must be able to lift min. 10 lbs 
  • Must sign waiver before beginning service
